Balik Cebu gathered 125 balikbayans

Cebu Holdings Inc., the official host to the annual Balik Cebu dinner party gathered some 125 balikbayans to pay homage to Sr. Sto. Nino and join in the Sinulog festivities.

Balik Cebu committee has also brought Handumanan to the dinner party. Handumanan, Lakbit Sud-ong sa Kulturang Bahandi is the yearly showcase of the best of Cebuano talents, and was held in Ayala Center Cebu’s the Terraces for the first time.

Handumanan 2010 showcased a reminiscent of the eras from the 1940s to 2000 through dances and music performed by Cebu’s top talents. Cebuano balladeer Chad Borja and singer-composer Dandin Ranillo also performed at the dinner party.

Balik Cebu committee has set up a Balik Cebu booth where balikbayans had access to Balik Cebu dinner party tickets, event guides and all the information about Sinulog activities. Suroy-Suroy Sugbo tour packages and grandstand passes for the Sinulog Mardi gras were also available in the booth.

This Balik Cebu event is CHI’s way of giving a special welcome to balikbayans and recognizing their contribution to the economy.

Balik Cebu 2010 was co-presented by CHI with Amara and Ayala Center Cebu, Department of Tourism, Cebu City Tourism Commission, Sinulog Foundation, Inc., and the Balik Cebu committee. This year’s sponsors are Creative Cuisine, Bank of the Philippine Islands and Avida.
